Day Camp LogoLet adventure be your guide this summer. The North Shore Country Day School offers an exciting way for children ages 10-13 to spend their summer. The Expedition Camp programs are North Shore's answer for people looking for adventure, challenge and freedom to explore and try new things.

Whether it be by land or by water, the Expedition Camp offers something for everyone. The ultimate goal of these two-week sessions is not to see how far one travels but rather to increase the camper's knowledge and self-esteem, to create memories and to create a desire to seek out nature.

Dates and Times

Session I: June 15 - June 26
Session II: July 6 - July 16
Session III: July 20 - July 31
9:00am - 3:30pm

Enrollment

First-come, first-served. Campers must be between the ages of 10-13 years.

Staff

Instructors for the Expedition Camps programs are experienced outdoors people. Each staff member has a love of nature, and a desire to share that passion with the next generation. All staff undergo extensive training in program curriculum and safety procedures.

Transportation

The Expedition Camps offer, as part of tuition, transportation to those families who live within our pick-up area, which ranges from Evanston to Glencoe. We travel as far west as Waukegan Road in Glenview.

Trailblazer Program

The Trailblazer Program is an introductory program for the Expedition Camps. In Trailblazer, campers ages 10-13 years will experience the excitement of the Mariner and Wayfarer Programs in a combination program. During the two-week session, Trailblazer campers will hike, mountain bike, rock climb, fish, sail, kayak and camp. The Expedition Camps supply all the gear; you bring the desire to have fun! On the Thursday and Friday of the second week, campers will have an overnight camping experience. All equipment is furnished by the camp.

Mariner Program

Campers enrolled in the Mariner Program will spend their two weeks learning how to navigate and operate a boat. Campers will learn to sail, canoe, kayak and windsurf while learning about boating safety. With a low camper-to-staff ratio, campers learn skills which will lead them to a positive boating experience. Campers in the Mariner Program will need to bring a lunch, drink, snack, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and shoes that can be worn in the water. Campers should report to the Art Center on the North Shore campus on the first day.

MARINER CAMPERS will gather daily at the North Shore Country Day School campus and travel to Lloyd Beach in Winnetka. All equipment is furnished by the camp. For campers ages 10-13 years.
